FreshFolio is a household finance tracker. We only collect what we need to make it work, and we tell you exactly what that is.
GDPR by design
Built and hosted in the EU. You have the right to access, export and delete your data at any time.
Encrypted in transit & at rest
All traffic is HTTPS. Database and backups are encrypted at rest. Bank credentials never touch our servers.
We never sell your data
No ads. No data brokers. No third-party tracking pixels in the app. Benchmarks use anonymous aggregates only.
Read-only bank sync
Plaid handles bank authentication. We receive read-only transactions — we cannot move money.
Delete anytime, one click
Settings → Account → Delete. Your data and all backups are purged within 30 days.
Transparent & open about limits
We document what we collect, where it lives, and how long we keep it. No surprises.
What we store
- • Your email and an encrypted password (or your Google sign-in identifier).
- • Household entries you create: expenses, incomes, budgets, projects, savings transfers.
- • Optional bank account metadata and transactions, only if you connect a bank via Plaid.
- • Optional demographics (country, age range, household type) you provide for benchmarks.
What we don't do
- • We don't sell your data. Ever.
- • We don't use third-party advertising or tracking pixels in the app.
- • We don't share personal data with benchmark providers — aggregates are anonymous.
- • We don't move money. Bank sync is strictly read-only.
Bank-sync permissions (Plaid)
When you connect a bank, Plaid asks you to authorize a strict, read-only scope. We can never see your bank password — Plaid handles authentication directly with your bank.
- • Account name, type and current balance
- • Transactions (date, amount, merchant, category)
- • Account masked number (last 4 digits)
- • Initiate or authorize any payment
- • Move money between accounts
- • See or store your bank login credentials
- • Share your transactions with third parties
Disconnect at any time in Settings → Connected accounts; we delete the Plaid access token and stop syncing immediately.
How our numbers are calculated
Plain-English methodology for the figures you see in the app. No black boxes.
- Net profit this month
- Income received this cycle minus all expenses paid or due this cycle (fixed + flexible + one-offs).
- Fair-share split
- Each member contributes to shared bills in proportion to their share of total household income, recalculated whenever an income changes.
- Smart Savings
- The unspent portion of your flexible monthly budget. Spend less than budgeted and it grows; overspend and it shrinks.
- Forecast
- Today's liquid balance projected forward using recurring fixed income minus recurring fixed expenses minus your committed flexible budget, plus any planned one-offs you've entered.
- AI peer benchmarks
- Compare your spending categories against anonymous aggregates from users with similar country, age range and household type. Individual data is never shared.
Your data, your control
- • Export — download a full copy of your data from Settings at any time.
- • Delete — one click in Settings purges your account and all backups within 30 days.
- • Leave a household — your personal entries stay with you; shared entries stay with the household.
- • Subprocessors — Supabase (EU database & auth), Plaid (bank sync), Lovable AI Gateway (benchmarks & assistants). No advertising networks.
